I recently was at Sandy’s house for ham sandwiches on home made bread, jalapeno deviled eggs made by her husband, beer and best of all, quilt viewing.
Sandy has tubs and tubs and boxes and boxes of quilting material.
Some she rescued from garage sales or estate sales.
Some she found too awesomely interesting to pass by. (Reading in between the lines, she just bought it because….)
She sometimes obtains fabric with a specific project in mind, but sometimes not. Sandy has a whole bin of purple fabric patterns. Yay Sandy!
A too cute baby quilt.
She has actually made my dogs, her dog nephews, each a doggie quilt and here is an example of a pet quilt. (I got a matching quilt to one of the doggie quilts but I suspect that the doggie quilts were the most fun as they got theirs first!)
Here is a beautiful quilt, how did she figure out the color scheme?
A sampler quilt.
And one of my favorites, a quilt made from left overs from other quilts!
My Mother and Grandmother quilted. My favorites were always made from the scraps, too. I have a stack of old pieces I promised her I would keep, though I don’t quilt. Very beautiful ones in your pictures.
I love that she uses purple! So many quilters are afraid of it.
These are beautiful, Sandy! Thank you both for sharing.
